The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts has been holding annual student shows for over a century. Join John Thornton as he tours the 108th of these and tries to find the student who won the same prize he won 29 years ago. His quest leads him to some profound truths about art, fame, friendship, and community.

    I really loved this …
    I really loved this movie. The one guy who prevented a suicide, then later the other guy who committed suicide–somehow, the way you arranged this info in the movie was very poignant to me. I also found it interesting how some of the artists clearly liked narrator John immensely, while some of the interview subjects seemed unnerved and wanted to escape, but either way, the narrator John remained unflappably cheerful and good natured. I hope that the elusive Ben sees this sometime…

    With the PAFA Fellowship board, I once had an evening and dinner with Gregory Gillespie. What a great guy to get to know, if very briefly. I think it was 1994.
