Can I receive an education credit (lifetime learning or hope credit) if my tuition was paid by a pell grant?

I’m just curious. I go to a community college. This has been my first year of college, and I’m going for an associate of arts in early childhood education.

Unless you paid something out of your own pocket, you wouldn’t be entitled to a tax credit. That would be the textbook definition of "double dipping"!

no. You have to be the one who paid for the educational expenses.
