Greenacre is a suburb that is typical of the cultural diversity of South Western Sydney. The local community is made up of cultural groups that may have only some understanding of each other’s stories and values. Bankstown Council decided to initiate a town centre upgrade that established quality public space and Public Art projects. The priority was that this development process would engage local people.
Key Public Artworks have been installed with great approval of locals. The success of the ongoing Greenacre project is that it provides an opportunity for dialogue and cultural representation which is helping build stronger understanding and community harmony in Greenacre today.
