For my project I’m supposed to:
Demonstrate creativity in the communication of the concerns of the Asian American community in areas such as Health, Education and Culture. The display of this communication can be in the form of written reports, film, video, new media techniques, and the development of performances or materials in the Arts and Sciences.
Any ideas?
One interesting fact is that Asian Americans use the mental health system less than other groups, and yet it appears that their mental health status is no better. It’s mor a social stigma to be thought of as going for help. That leads to more suicides and extreme behavior (think Virginia Tech). What is being done to increase awareness in AA communities? What plays and art by AAs take this into account? Would be interesting.
