Hi,
I’m a teenager living in a small Texas town. Theatre is my life. I’ve been involved with it for many years and I’m absolutely in love with it. I’d like to pursue it as a career, but I don’t really know how to get started.
I have all the tools. I sing, dance, and obviously act. I’ve been in productions in school, community theaters, and even extras and ensembles in professional shows. I think that I could make it work in the future-but I’m not sure where I should start.
Please don’t advise me against trying to be an actress. I know it’s a hard job. But I don’t want to be famous or on sitcoms or in movies or anything like that. I want to be on the stage, in musical theatre, that sort of thing. And if it doesn’t work out I plan to major in Business and/or English. I still have a couple of years before college, so I’d like some advice on what to do, like what kind of performing arts colleges I should look at, where I should live, what I should do in the meantime…
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and answer my question-much appreciated!
