May 2-August 10, 2008

On Procession is an exhibition that investigates parades as themes and staged events in contemporary artworks. Artworks in the exhibition draw upon ideas of ritual, propaganda and civic celebration, and survey issues of history, identity, and public visibility. On view will be videos, sculpture, installation artworks, costumes, banners, and parade artifacts and ephemera by such artists as Francis Alÿs, Jeremy Deller, Fritz Haeg, Allison Smith, and art collective Friends With You.
